It was funfor him and the students and he continued drawing the caricatures of famous people for his own amusement after retirement.

Upon retiring to the White Mountains of Arizona, his wife encouraged him to take painting lessons at the local community college in Springerville/Eagar, AZ.He discovered he preferred oil and acrylic over other media, and as a result most of hiswork is done in that area. He likes using mixed media on canvas with acrylic as the base and oil in the forefront.

His subject matter is all over the place, but his preference is the deserts of the southwest. Also being a retired cowboy, he loves to paint animals, especially horses.
